The Carriage House Inn is my life, my love, and my gift to people who can take the time to get away and enjoy what life truly is about...rest, relaxation, amazing scenery, new friendships, and most importantly the experience of Pocahontas County and all it has to offer. Huntersville Traditions Day (7)
~Huntersville Traditions Day~ "Share the great experience of stepping back in time when life was simple and our traditions began." Demonstrations of appplebutter making, apple cider making, weaving baskets, spinning wool, Civil war reenactors, old time music, pioneer cooking, wagon rides, historical tours, and soooo much more. The date for this years festival is October 2, 2010. Join in the fun!!! -
~Greenbrier River Trail~ (5)
The Greenbrier River Trail ia an abandoned train bed which was converted into one of the longest rail-trails in the state of West Virginia and is almost 78 miles long. A great trail for all different levels of biking....I truly enjoy the scenery and take ALOT of breaks....sitting by the Greenbrier River, and taking in the sights....it couldn't be better than that.... -
Falls of Hill Creek (3)
A must see on your visit to Pocahontas County.........great hike, and I believe there are 150 steps going down to the last fall....so remember, that means 150 steps back up.....a nice workout!!! -
Scenic Highway (1)
~Scenic Highway~ Scenic Highway is the highest major roadway in West Virginia. There are many beautiful scenic overlooks throughout the 43 mile drive. Every season paints a different landscape....a must see on your llist of things to do in Pocahontas County. -
Cass Scenic Railroad (4)
Pictures of one of my guest's grandchild taking in the Cass Scenic Railroad....he doesn't look too excited does he????? -
National Radio Astronomy Observatory (2)
This misty afternoon sets the mood for a truly fascinating tour through the NRAO site which houses the world's larges fully maneuverable radio telescope....the GBT. -
Snowshoe Mountain (2)
Snowshoe is not only one of the top ten ski resorts of the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic, it also offers a wide variety of other activities throughout the year...mountain biking, hiking, festivals, fine dining...make sure you take along an extra jacket, it can be quite cool up there even through the summer months. -
Geocashing (3)
~Geocashing~ is a worldwide treasure hunting game where you use your handheld GPS device to hide and seek containers with thousands of other participants in the activity. There are over 100 caches within a 25 mile radius of Huntersville, some are a "park and grab", and some require a very nice hike,and new ones are being added all the time.
